Unhappy my car burns oil, please help

ok guys, here's the problems......on monday night, i checked my oil dip stick, and the oil level was low by two holes in the dip stick. so i add another quart, and checked it again, it was full to the top. on tuesday morning, i drove my car, and push it to WOT about 2 times. after i got home, i open my hood and saw a very little white smoke coming from behind the alternator. it smelled like a burned oil. i spilled a little bit of oil on monday night when i was filling it up, so i thought that was it. but today i drive my Z again, push it to WOT once, and got back home. i can still smell the burnt oil smell, even though there's no smoke....the smell only comes from the back of the alternator, between the oil fill cap and the dip stick....is this the oil that i spilled got burnt, or my engine is eating some oil??? please help me guys

Check for bluish-gray smoke exiting your tailpipes - an indication that you are burning oil. Most likely you have a leak that's falling on your Y-pipe and causing that smell.

"Is it eating oil"?

Well, the oil has to be going somewhere. Does the engine usually show low on oil? Does it now? Are there any leaks? Do you see any oil along the back of the block... anywhere on the block, pan, etc.?

Are the spark plugs oil fouled?

A little smoke would be the least of my concerns.... where's the oil going? That's the question.

- when i first bought the car, there's a little oil leak on the bottom of the opti if i'm not mistaken. but now the leak seems to get worse. i also found an oil in the plug number 1. everytime i jacked up the car, i would see that the bottom of the block is very dirty duw to there's oil over there and the dirt is sticking to it. how can i fix this??

there's no oil on the grounds. i check on tuesday night, and the oil is not touching the ground.

anyway, thanks for the help. my guess is that my oil gasket is leaking or crisp? but i'm not too sure...i'll try to replace the oil gasket when i'm changing my water pump + my plug wires. thanks guys

You can clean the thing up but that probably won't help if you have an oil leak of some type.
How much oil do you lose on average? Like a quart a month... a week... a day!?
You may have a small leak at the front of the block which then gets sprayed on everything by the belts/pulleys etc. That would explain the "uncleanliness" of the underside of the engine but you may have something worse going on.... considering your #1 plug comment you may have blowbye, which means your rings aren't sealing like they should.
Need to know how much you're losing before jumping to conclusions though.
