the other night driving around i noticed my dash lights flickering and i looked over at the volt gauge and it was moving around and at one point the needle went down into the battery symbol on the gauge area. then all of a sudden it went back to normal? i think maybe something inside the alternator is going bad? its almost eight years old and its from autozone... anywhere to get cheap prices on ac delco alternators?

 

Well check the belt, make sure there is no more than a inch of deflection on her. The take a volt meter and check ti at idle, if its below 14 volts and this being with no under drive pully. Buy a new ALT. I bought one at advanced auto. it was fine

 

u mean make sure the belt is snug? and not wore out? i took it off bout a dozen times doing stuff...
