Mushy throttle at low RPM's
Mushy throttle at low RPM's
Up until about 3 grand the throttle response is a lacking some and the throttle feels "mushy". Once you hit 3,500 the throttle responce gets wicked and the car feels way more responsive.
Is this normal with an M6 with a cam that has a powerband that gets going at 3000-3500?
Maybe Im used to my A4 when the TC would pull you good through the lower RPMs.
It just seems like the powerband is more noticable with the M6..if this isnt the case could it be a tuning issue?

It doesn't seem abnormal to me. Its kinda like mashing your pedal in 6th gear crusing down the highway at 65, you're only gonna get so much out of it. Gotta shift
Edit: O and the reason it seems as though your A4 made more low end power was because of your torque converter. I don't really know the proper way to explain it. Sorry.

If the cam does not start making power till 3 to 3500 rpms then that is normal. I had a buddy of mine I helped build the motor for his car so I am picking out all these cool parts at Super Shops (oops showing my age) but he insists on picking the cam, welp he picks some big *** thing that don,t start makin no power till like 4000 rpm and at the track we are getting killed by RVs and stuff, we could not get off the line, just puttin but we sure would run up on em awful quick. Unfortunatly by the time we got into the power band the other guy had already crossed the finish line.
Bought all the parts for a good STREET engine and then goes and puts a friggin funny car cam in it.
