Should there be multiple sparks on a single plug? I pull #1 today since I'm having very bad idle issues and checked the plug. For each TDC of that Cylinder I get 4(maybe 5) sparks. Is this normal? Or do I have bad ICM?

 

You don't a MSD box hooked up do you?

Never heard of such a thing on the stock system.

 

Odd. I think this maybe causing my miss and bad timing. I will try swapping some of the ign parts and see if that fixes it

 

How did you test it to make sure it was actualy sparking that # of times?

 

pull the plug and ground it and watch it fire
So changed the cap and rotor. This fixed the miss fire but it still sparks multiple times on each cylinder. A little odd but I'm ok with that. And I know for sure that there us no after market ignition on there seeing as I just pulled this setup out of my 94 and put it in my 92. I'm sure I would have found a box seeing as I rewired the whole car :-p
