I just got my JetHot LT's on this weekend. The Mufflex Y doesn’t look like it will work out very well. It certainly will not just bolt up. Significant modifications must be done. I'm going to take it to the muffler shop next week and see what they can do with it. For around 250$ I would have expected better. If you have a shop that can do a custom y-pipe I would do that instead. More than likely you will end up needing a exhaust shop to do some work on the Mufflex anyway. The mufflex y-pipe ends up as a 4in pipe. Most cat-back's are 3in and will need a reducer installed that will need welding. If you don't have a cutout now would be a good time to add one. So my recommendation is just go to a shop that can fab all that up and skip the Mufflex.

Oh I've heard there is a alternative to the Mufflex pre-made Hooker LT Y-pipe out now. I forget where, Summit maybe? You might do a search. I think it has been mentioned here recently.

I have the Hooker longtubes so I bought the Mufflex Y-pipe and it bolted straight up to them. I didnt have any issues at all but I did have to buy the reducer that was talked about above. It reduces the 4" outlet down to the 3" that you will need for the catback. The only thing I wish I would have done was put the O2 sensors at the collectors of the headers instead of in the Y-pipe but it still works fine.

Why is there such a big difference with some people having problems, and some not with the pipe is what I'm trying to understand. ??

I have the Mufflex Y and their 4" Spintech Exhaust. The Spintech or catback portion was great! The Y-pipe sucks. I had to modify the entire section that bolts to the drivers side header. Also ground clearance could be better as it does not tuck up to the car very well. Also you may have to trim your trans mount on the drivers side for proper fit. I think the Y-pipe could be much improved. Just take it to an exhaust shop and save yourself the frustrations.

I think the stainless works pipe is 2 1/2" throughout. The mufflex is 3" into 4". I'm ready for Jethot to release their Y-Pipe. They need to do a 3" pipe throughout that is coated. Heard is was suppose to out this summer. Come on Jethot, we want to buy one now!!!

My muffelx fitted like crap. I had to grind on the crossmember and it still hit. I dimpled the pipe with and spark plug socket to keep it from hitting. I would get a custom made one. If you need a reducer, I got one (Hooker P/N 11138) for $15 shipped.

I guess I must have been one of the real lucky ones because like I stated above I didnt have to do anything to get mine to fit. For once something went together right on my car!!!! This has been few and far between in the modding scenerio.

I would recommend having a local exhaust shop make you a custome y-pipe. There are alot of fitment issues with the Mufflex y-pipe.

i hate my mufflex, it didn't fit without some modifications with a BFH and it STILL only has about 1.5 inches of clearance

the only problem with the mufflex y is the drivers side of the y pipe, I dragged that part over a speed bump and bent the pipe all to hell, no prob, I cut the drivers section of the y off and made a custom 3 inch mandrel bent pipe, took it to a an exhaust shop and had them weld it up, not only do I not have clearance issues anymore but there are also no more exaust leaks, if you get it make sure to get the drivers side sections pieces welded up to avoid leaks. You will have to grind some off the crossmember, I don't see how you can get away with not and not have it hit on it (although I do have a 6 speed, I don't know if the automatic is different), so rent an air grinder.

I had no issues with installing the Mufflex Y-pipe...looks good doesn't leak and sounds mean with the cutout....

Personally I would recommend it

So it seems to be "hit or miss" on how well the Mufflex y-pipe fits... I'm considering getting one, but expect better results from a $250 y-pipe.
