muffler
clips
i've been searching for some clips of the muffs, but im coming up dry....ill check into the 80's, but i might have to end up getting the 40 series, cuz they have that instock here where im at and i want this on this weekend
I went with a 50 series Flowmaster muffler for three(3) reasons. 1) I wanted a single 3" inlet and outlet system, 2) I wanted a some what "quieter" 3 chamber muffler instead of the 2 chamber (and loud!) 40 series, and 3) I wanted a stainless muffler not an aluminized muffler. The only Flowmaster muffler to fit these three requirements was the 50 series. As for the sound, I honestly have to say I personally DON"T like it
It sounds very "hollow" at higher RPM. My Camaro sounds more like a Mustang now!!!
If I had it to do over again, I'd go with the 30 series muffler which is also a 3 chamber (but aluminized) muffler but with "deeper" tone.
Hope this helps???

custom sound
I personally am designing a custom exhaust system around a 50 series, i have had flowmasters on other vehicles and im a believer in them. Theres a lot of people on this board that are gonna talk a lot of jive about the flows but mostly cuz they are dissatisfied with the flow characteristics of the cross-flow 80 series that comes in the catback system for our cars. a cross-flow muffler will never flow or sound as good as a regular single in single out muffler will. Thats why im building a custom setup around the traditional 50. I dont know when its going to be completed but i think you will all be impressed with what i put together. The short answer, go for it, I think you'll like it.

yeah i got the 80 series and i was pretty much satisfied. it had a deep rumble at idle and you could barely hear it cruising. i just loved the sound when i went WOT, but i got tired of it so i removed the cat and added 3" outlets. now i realized i should of just got a cutout
in the first place. IMO the flows are good sounding muff. and should satisfy you. i am not sure but i think the flowmaster website had some sound clips.
