MSD Pro billet timing adjusting screw

I finally finish all my install including a msd pro billet that was exchange for warranty.

The problem is that my car have an awfull idle(kind of miss/stumble) and when i give it some gas it stumble more. Also when i left the gas pedal it gives a little backfire poping sound. The basic settings of the adjusting screw(2 turn and 1/2 out).

I adjust the srew and screw it to the max so it sit flush with the housing, absolutely no turn out.The car run fine on idle and no more backfire...

But when i about to start from a stop the car seems to miss if i push on the gas pedal too quickly it even want to die...If i start from a stop really slowly there is no problem?

What could be the trouble?

Also when i srew in the adjusting screw do i give timing or do i take timing?

Thanks

I believe you only use the adjustment if you have a cam that needs different timing than stock. You should leave it at the factory setting and check things like plugs wires loose on both ends, wrong plug routing, plugs not all the way tight, burnt plug wire and so on. Maybe it was installed wrong so the gear is not on the proper way.

I agree. I had the same problem and it turned out two of my wires were crossed and one was burnt.

Wire are brand new(less than 3 miles) they are plug OTVC directly to the DELTEQ so the wire are not burnt and not crossed.

Reset the computer or let it learn on it's own after about 50/100 miles.

Did you look on their website or on the web.
It would take me two days to explain how to check it. It's not hard but.

Did you check the rotor screws on your new MSD and possibly put some thread-locker on them?

I dont have anymore high voltage in there so i took out the "guts" inside(black back plate, metal protection plate and the rotor). My friend is a machinist who made me a billet disc the same size has the rotor to avoid the timing disc to warp. The cap is the billet one from DELTEQ.I also put red locktite on all the screw

It's ABC's.

If there was some garbage the computer was trying to function with then if it resets it will go back to it's original set up and relearn what it is running with now.

I am not up to speed on all these computers do, but that is my understanding.

May be all out in left field.
