msd/optispark/w.p./sparkplug help/AIR

I bought a 96 SS 3 weeks ago and about 6 hours after i got it home the water pump went in a big way so I have pulled the water pump and the opti (to prevent bad luck) installed new seals and the new stuff is ready to go on so I figured for good measure I would replace the plugs (bad idea ) so I got them all changed (some one had done it once befor but missed #8 and I got it useing a spark plug socket a wrench and a racheting strap!) ...and who does plugs with out new wires except drag racers? So I am trying to install msd 8.5's and there is no way they will run the same path as the stock wires (passanger side at least) any suggestions? Also I dont know about anyone else but it seems like for all the work to do plugs and wires ectect I could have just pulled the stupid engine... (I was super close to pulling it after the second hour of trying to get out the #8 plug) also the more I work on the car the more I HATE! the air injection system I have heard I can remove it but will burn up the cats and set off a cel I assume if I buy a lt1 edit type program i can turn off the cel but what about the cats and the pump and serp belt routeing?

thanks
jay

Can't help you with the wires. I use stock wires. You can remove the AIR stuff and it won't hurt the cats. You can have the PCM programmed to ignore the DTC for the AIR system. The serpentine belt does not come into play. The AIR pump is electric and not belt driven. I don't really see the AIR system causing too much trouble when doing plugs and wires.
