Will bad battery connection make car run bad??

We put a differant battery in my car today and we think the terminal is stripped in it and its not getting a good connection at all, when the car does finally turn over and starts the battery guage jumps around alot, we drove it down the road and it ran fine for a little while and then it started missing and sputtering pretty bad. Will a bad battery connection make the car run like crap if its getting wierd voltage??

Yes it will, I had to buy a new terminal when I had a similar problem.

Re: Will bad battery connection make car run bad??

I know its the +terminal bc the other day when i was messing witht he battery i was taking off the + terminal and i could hear the inside dinging for whatever reason it does that, and then i would move it some more and it would turn off, and then it would ding again. So i know there is something wrong with the battery. We put new terminals in it today and we had the battery tested at Advanced Auto and it was good, but they used the top posts for the test and not the side terminals so that does me no good, i am thinking the side terminals are stripped out and i am not getting it tight enough. Also it ran good for the first few minutes we drove it and then all the sudden it was sputtering real bad. Thanks for the resonses, Dustin.
