not a update of the cap and rotor, it uses the MSD cap and rotor, it is a complete opti, but its probably not out yet

It's not an updated cap and rotor, but a complete optispark that they just introduced at the SEMA show. There has been mention of it in other threads. They say it will be available next spring. Of course, it took them more than a year to get the cap and rotor out.

A couple of things of interest. At the bottom of the article http://www.msdignition.com/2006/06-4.htm
It says the 92-94 comes with the vent hoses ????? and the 94-96 doesn't say anything.
97 isn't mentioned.
It is adjustable. What's that gona do to a computer controlled advance??????
Last, as Rob eluded to when will it be available? Just as in the case of the cap, Summit is saying today, ETA is 12-8-05. That is probably a mis print and should be 12-8-06

it upgrades the 92-94 to a vented setup, the adjustment allows you to more precisly set base timing, good for large cams that have been degreed special

Thats what I was thinking, it allows you to degree in your cam and not have to add the adjustment to the timing tables since you can "zero" the distributor.
