MSD opti
MSD opti
Well they finally built ONE and just now got it tested on ONE car a 96 9C1 owned by one of the Impala forum memebers. I am not convinced that all the extra "features" the whole opti has over just the cap and rotor are worthwhile, but figure a lot of you are drooling over this thing and would like an update.
One guy I believe on LS1 Tech was told by his engine builder he would have one in two weeks, this was at least a week ago so the sales rep at MSD was feeding the engine builder a line of bull. Summit currently lists the ship date as 5-15, I feel that will likely get moved AGAIN.

Re: MSD opti
MSD is still showing the release date for the 8381 (93'-94') as April 14th. The 83811 (95'-97') has slid to the middle of May. I've been in contact with both MSD and Summit. MSD assures me the 8381 will be released at the end of March. Summit mentioned it takes about two weeks before they receive it. MSD and Summit both stated back orders will be filled first. I've had my on order since the middle of February.
Re: MSD opti
I plan on replacing my Opti this summer... I am waiting for some feedback about the MSD unit, if it is good, I may consider purchasing it. If not, I'll just stick with a cheaper GM replacement and get another 100K out of that one.
