MSD Coil a good mod??

I was thinking about getting one, since they are pretty cheap. What are the pro's and cons of one. Seems like before i have read somewhere on this board or others that they go bad or something after 2 or 3 months of use. Is this true or just bs. Is it worth getting?

heard the stock is good enough...i imagine if your running a larger motor then u might need it, but for your average bolt on lt1 the stocker should be good enough

If your 97 coil is working now, it won't likely be of much benefit to get another coil. The 96-97 stock coils are pretty good ones.

I have a Blaster III High Vibration coil mounted on my left shock tower. It's probably an overkill for my car, wasn't a plug'n'play mod either, but works flawlessly for 3 years now...
