MSD cap and rotor kit
MSD cap and rotor kit
Just put on the MSD cap and rotor kit for the early non-vented opti. It comes with two vacuum lines - one to go to manifold vacuum and one to ported vacuum prior to the throttle blades. I read online somewhere about taking that line that they show in their kit being installed into the air intake elbow and running it inside the car with a fuel filter or the like installed.
Any thoughts on this? I'd only seen that in one post on one forum that I found doing a google search. Figured I'd ask before I go drilling holes in that new 1LE intake elbow.

The air the flows into the Opti air supply line eventually ends up in the combustion chamber, so its a good idea to take it from a source that has passed through the MAF sensor. Hence, connect it to the elbow, between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. That air has also been filtered.
I too have a 94' with the MSD cap and rotor kit that has the retro-fit vent kit. I ran the air supply from the passenger side compartment under the dash with a small fuel filter on the end of the vacuum line. The theory is it allows dryer air (i.e., heated/air conditioned air) into the opti verses the intake track. It was my hope that it would cut down on corrosion inside the cap. I siliconed my cap as well.......
