Can I feel any improvement in performance with this ignition box?

My LT1 have, headers and MSD blaster coil.

the newer ignition systems are better and the improvement is not what they used to be. you will feel nothing.

You can set your rev limiter with it. I guess a question some questions one could pose are:

Does it make any difference in types of spark plugs used, i.e. NGK v. Bosch plus-4? Does it make any difference if your plugs are indexed toward the intake valve (or in another direction depending on the type of pistons you're running)?

What about cutting the side electrode back to expose the center electrode?

All these are supposed to provide better ignition and are even claimed to provide increases, albeit small, in HP.

So if a Multiple Spark ignition provides better combustion, or at least, assured ignition, then perhaps one could reasonably assume some beneficial improvments in performance, gas mileage, etc.

It is not the electrical spark, whether a single zap or multiple zaps, that ignite the fuel, but the heat generated by the spark (s).

I would not categorically say that you are going to "feel" a SOP improvement, however, I would not likewise say that you are not going to get any improvement, whether or not you can feel it.

And besides that, I have an MSD-6A, and I don't want to feel like a fool.

on the older carb and early tpi motors i would see emission reductions by bolting one on. they do something,if you feel it i doubt it. ford uses multi srike on alot of stock vehicles for emissions. it cannot hurt anything.

You won't feel a thing in performance. But I figured, hey it can't hurt the engine right? Besides, it does have a rev control, plus you can hook a kill switch to it if you want. But I do know MSD recommends you do NOT run solid core plug wires (as opposed to spiral wound MSD wires), as it will eat them up.

In this stage of the game, its not needed. If you were to do a heads/cam upgrade or forced induction of some sort, then you might see some benefit from having an aftermarket box. I have the Mallory box, but I use it for its window switch and timing retard features for my nitrous setup. Otherwise, there is no noticable difference with the box.
