Mr. Gasket 5716 vs Impala gaskets

What ones would you reccomend over the other and why? And has Mr. gasket fixed the packaging issue? I don't want to have to buy 4 gaskets just to get 2 good ones.

I think someone a few months back mentioned the packaging issue had been fixed, but don't quote me on that. Then again I don't think I've ever heard of anyone having issues using the Impy gaskets. Have them on my car, not that anyone should give a rats ***.

who did you get your impala gaskets from? I looked at the parts stores and they use the same gasket according to their part numbers. Point me int he right direction

They use the same PN if you ask for Felpro but stock the b-body got a .029 gasket where the aluminum head cars got .049.

Recently the Mr. Gaskets doubled in price on summit which lead to me checking out the NAPA Victor Rienz brand gaskets with the same exact .026 4.100 specs. I paid $22 apiece but they are single LOOSE packaged for ZERO coating issues and while that is more than the Mr. Gasket used to cost it is a lot less than the $70 a pair Summit is currently listing them at.
Victor Rienz PN 5898.

I would guess the price jack is to recoup the losses incurred by the packaging issues.

Is there any difference in strength between the two of them? I would think the Mr. Gasket set would be stronger and less prone to being blown, but I could be wrong.

The only head gasket problems I have seen on LT1s are the stock aluminum .049 gaskets seem to let go eventually for some guys.

VERY rare to hear of a head gasket problem on the b-bodies don't know if it is the gaskets or the iron heads, but like I said problems are VERY rare.
