Mr Gasket 5716 head gaskets
Did a Search - Mr Gasket 5716 head gaskets
Didin't find what i needed on search. Just that people use these.
I know some of you use this because of the .026 thickness. I like em cause they are less than half the price of the 5715.
My question is do they have the same passages and everything?
Are they identical save for thickness/material?
They don't have to be 'modified' do they?
It lists them for the iron heads for $33.69/pair and .026 / 4.100 where the ones for aluminum heads are $37.69 each and .046 / 4.120.
I want to do my head gaskets this week and just want to be sure.

Re: Mr Gasket 5716 head gaskets
i use them, they are for LT1 block and heads, they require no modifications too use
i use them on .010" milled heads larger valves, stock deck height, a cam with alot more lift then stock and have no piston too valve clearance issues (but always check before starting the motor)
if you order them from summit, be sure too order just one as they come in a pair for the .026". i recomend sticking them in a fridge or freezer for a little bit before opening the package tho. some of us have had them stick together when opening them (with no ill affect tho, just a precaution with the freezer)

Re: Mr Gasket 5716 head gaskets
I have had 0 problems with these gaskets save for the mentioned "sticking" problem.
I used them to tighten my quench to .036 with the deck height being .010. Tight quench makes more torque and is less prone to detonation. My compression is 11.8:1 on 93 octane with zero timing being pulled due to spark retard. My dynamic compression is 9:1 and is possible thru custom cam.
I won't/can't give out the specs but my lift numbers are bigger than the GM847 and I run 1.6 comp pro mag's.
The gaskets work great and are a great deal at only ~$35
