MPH off by 20+. Why?

OK guys I had a slight miss that after changing everything else the dealer instructed me to swap to another pcm. When I got my pcm from the dealer I had to turn in my old one which had a tune from the previous owner. When I installed this pcm I noticed that my mph is off by 20+. Since then I have purchased Tunercat and another pcm. When I swapped it out I still have the same problem. I also got a tune from MadZ28 and I told Ion that as far as I know the gears are the same as the code states. Do you guys think that the previous owner had different size gears installed? Factory code is for 2:73. Would this cause this problem? I am also having a stumble at WOT once the car heats up. It drives fine at all other times. All ignition components are newer including opti. Thanks in advance for your responses.

I would say it had after market gears. As far as the missing make SURE the plug wires are away from all metal. It could arch out of what appears to be a well insulated wire.

The wires are ovc and they are not touching anything. I guess that I will have to pull the cover off and count them to make sure.

I believe that you are the lucky recipient of a performance gear change by a previous owner. With this gear calculator you should be able to figure out what you have by imputing the various common rear end ratios until you see the one that matches your rpm at a known speed. http://www.f-body.org/gears/
