Post MPG with 4.10's and 3.73's

I have been throwing around the idea up upgrading my rearend, and I have read a lot of about ugrading the rearend.

But since my car is my daily driver, and I do all my driving in suburban areas, gas milage is very important to me.

So the question is, what kind of MPG are you guys gettig with those rear-ends. My uncle has a 69 SS 396 with a 4.10 and he gets 6 mpg, which is what I am afriad of.

Any help would be extremely apreciated!

I only drive a little highway and mostly city. My mileage with my 2.73 was 15.3 mpg and my mileage after going to a 3.73 gear was 15.3 mpg

depends on how heavy my right foot is that tank

on the highway I typically average almost 20

when out screwing around I've had it as low as 10... but that was a long hardcore night

but "typical" driving I'm right about where I was with the 3.42's.. I just run a gear higher (5th instead of 4th) and average out to about 15-18mpg...

I get about the same as i did before, better city mileage due to being able to use 5th and 6th, but a little worse highway mileage, this is with 4.10's btw. But, as someone else already stated, the lead foot has also take me down to 10-11 mpg before too

Im currently getting aroudn 32mpg with stock 3:42's. With 4:10's im expecting around 25-27mpg. Of course how hard you drive it is a major factor

Wink MPG

Dont fret bstevens, you'd get numbers like that if you had a M6 or if you cut off your lead foot. I have both problems.

i have gotten over 300 miles out of 10 gallons, not screwing off and not going over 70mph on the highway... although on the weekends is when i let the juice flow since i got a fresh paycheck in my pocket. listen.. if you are worried abuot gas mileage buy a dodge colt or something. peace

the rustang will get caught before me. because 160 is not a problem with 4.10s in a m6. acctually i turn only 4000 rpms a 140mph. and its still pulling pretty good.
