Moving the windage tray 1/2 inch lower. Any problem with this?

Moving the windage tray 1/2 inch lower. Any problem with this?

Exploring all the possible reasons why my engine spun a bearing on the new engine.. I dont think this could be a factor but im exploring all possibilities. To clear the rod bolts i moved the windage tray 1/2 inch lower... Currently tearing apart the engine to take a look at it.

File this one away in the "I should have gotten a better oil pan" archives.

Unless moving the tray defeated oil flow, I dont see how this could be the cause. But I'm not a proponent of stock oil pans either.

Im with spinner on this one. I put studs on mine and I got rid of the widage tray and went with a Canton oil pan that has a windage tray built into it.
