low coolant light keeps coming on

the past few days my low coolant light has been coming on after i drive the car for like 20 minutes. i always let it cool off and check the level in the radiator and its fine, so today i checked the resevoir and it was low so i added coolant to it and drove it and it stille came on a couple times, but not every time. i figure its probably just the sensor which brings me to my question. i work for NAPA and i looked in our computer for a sensor for it but the only thing that seemed like the right part was a 'coolant temp sensor.' if all my car does need is a sensor, would that be the right one to get? i didnt think temperature had anything to do with it but i didnt see anything else on the computer for coolant sensors. if thats not the rigth part, where do i get a new coolant sensor? thanks

The sensor is shot. They do that all the time. Get a new one. Any chevy or pontiac dealer has at least one of them all the time.

Do what i did, just unplug that annoying sensor and that light will never come on again.

Just a heads up...my light went off and on a couple times when my water pump went...even though it wasn't low because of coolant that came in from the overflow bottle.
