Motor Mounts

Is there a place to get a how to on changing these? I have a set to put in that I need to put in, and when I was putting the headers in I noticed that the passenger side motor mount the bolt that goes through it hits from what I can remember the air conditioning tube or somethign.

Re: Motor Mounts

it's pretty obvious....jack the motor up to get room and start removing bolts.

have fun with those headers in...i know it took me 10hrs with manifolds, and when i installed headers there was no way i would have been able to do it

Re: Motor Mounts

With my LT's in, it was 2 hours tops from jacking it up to test drive time??? I suppose if you don't have any tools ready or decide to drink a case of beer and eat a pizza or two it could take alot longer, but 10 hours??

Re: Motor Mounts

Well it took me "3 days" to do my plugs, or 2-3 hour spread out over three days... so i can believe 10 hours at home on the driveway with little or no help

Re: Motor Mounts

I had to bend one of the AC tubes a tad to get to the passenger side Motor mount.

I don't remember it taking a whole lot of time to replace them.

Good luck!

I don't think there is a how to on the motor mounts. Once you get in there it is pretty easy to figure out how they come out. Have fun...it is a pain in the ****.

Re: Motor Mounts

What I remember taking me the longest was grinding out the rivets to put the new mounts in the bracket.

Re: Motor Mounts

It shouldn't take very long unless you run into alignment issues like I did. The driver side mount was pretty quick. It took me longer to drill out and reassemble the mount than to install it. The passenger side was a PITA though. The engine would simply not align itself to the mount holes. I beleive I had to disconnect the tranny crossbrace to get it to fit right.

Re: Motor Mounts

OK, I will probally just end up taking out the entire assembly and doing it outside of the car and then putting it all bakc together. We will see how that goes.
