Motor Mounts...................

I have a question for all you Camaro guys. I have a 93 Z-28 LT-1 with an automatic transmission. But first let me bring you up to date.....

I posted a question here a few months ago about an engine vibration I have at 1300/1500 RPM's. This vibration is there whether the car is being driven or sittiing still, in gear or neutral.

At one time I thought that maybe the harmonic balancer was bad but it checks (visually) to be good. It hasnt slipped or turned. The tranny mount has been replaced and is good also.

My question is this, are old engine mounts capable of making this vibration? The engine does "not" lift if I shift from drive to reverse. So? What other kind of indications do you get from old, worn out motor mounts???

Thank you for your responses.........

Jeff

The checks are the ones that you described is how you check it out. The biggest problems is they start to sag over time and make headers install a problem.

As for the vibrations I would check out the flexplate to see if it has any cracks in it or a possible weight missing. Have you done any tranny work lately?
