motor

Need a motor for my 1995 z,have a chance to get a great deal on a 96 lt1 long block..my question is ,can i drop this in with out changing the wire harness or do i need a 96 harness..thanks for the help

It will work without changing the harness. The 96 will have a crank sensor, but you can just ignore that (there won't be a plug on your 95 harness to go to it-not a problem). It will also have an EVAP vacuum switch on the RH side of the intake (if you are getting that part). You can ignore that, too and just use the EVAP plumbing from your 95. Use your 95 coil and ICM, too.

You also need to swap your 95 knock sensor into the 96 block. 96 knock sensor is not compatible with the 95 PCM.
