Ummm, i think that i understand your question. The motive gears are basically GM gears.....and yes they will work.

I thought the stock gears in a 1995 was a 3.23...that is what I had...maybe different for different cars

I may be wrong, but i was under the impression that most A4's came w/ 2.73s and that the M6 came w/ 3.23's...don't hold me to that but i heard it somewhere.

Best way to know for sure is to check your codes to make sure. But either way, a 3.23 to 3.73 upgrade is still worth it IMO

BTW, here are the RPO codes for the gear ratio:

GU2 Axle, Rear 2.73 Ratio
GU4 Axle, Rear 3.08 Ratio
GU5 Axle, Rear 3.23 Ratio
GU6 Axle, Rear 3.42 Ratio

If you have 2.73's you will need a 3-series carrier to install them. Strange and Richmond make a 3.73 to fit your existing 2-series carrier but GM doesn't.

If you have 2.73's (GU2 code in your glovebox or on your driver side door), then you have a series 2 carrier. Get the GM Motive 3.73's made for the series 2 carrier. That's exactly what I did and they are perfectly quiet and have held up to many a dragstrip pass. :-)
