Most common reason for engine miss????

Sup guys...breaking in my motor and all was fine yesterday. Today, driving into work notice a miss. Checked plug wires and they're all on tight. Brand new Opticrap so doubt its that. All I can think of is plugs. But gotta wait til done work for that. Whats your experience with misses?

Thanks.

Things I know of that can cause misses:

Plugs
Wires
Coil
Coil wire
Opti
ICM getting too hot
Bad O2s
vacuum leak
dirty TB and intake and combustion chambers

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.

Van... you're on it man, I just found it. #6 had jumped over the compressor and burnt on the header. Just enough to go through the rubber but not the white part. Pulled it back and runs fine now. Its a biyatch to change the pass side so I was wondering if I can just heat wrap it for now. They're are a week old too crap. Taylors.

Sorry to hear that. I burnt one on my Mac's. I plulled it back, but to no avail, it still stumbled. I went to autozone and bought cheapest wire set they had with lifetime guarantee and just replaced that one.

Well mine is back to normal since I pulled her back but I wonder if I'm losing anything power wise from it being like that?

I had plugs that were gone by only 35kmiles. I expected them to last 100k so i tried changing plug wires and the opti, which ofcourse didnt work.

After installing headers, my #1 problem has been the #6 wire, either cracking or burning.

yeah, primarily because the harness runs so close to the #2 exhaust tube. Everything else seems fine. Actually I'm glad it was just that though, being the new motor and all. Something I could just see...pull back....and its fine again. Like the poor dude with the stumbling problem. First thing that came to my mind was him.
