morel lifters

Quick question, I recently changed my lifters to morels from dana which is a stock oem replacement. Alot of people are saying I would need longer pushrods, but I didn't. The rockers were adjsuted about 1/16 to 1/8 past zero lash. Can someone please expalin why I didn't need the longer pushrods?

The Morel lifters need more preload than that, that is the reason I would imagine. They need about 2/3 of a turn past zero lash. If I were you I would set them to that and and re-measure your pushrod length. FYI: I needed .100" longer pushrods with the Morels over Comp R's.

I too am going to Morel lifters with my LE2 setup. I am now running my old stock lifters with 75,000 miles on them and one has colapsed. With my Trickflow pushrods being standard overhead roller lenght of 7.200 I will need to get 7.300 pushrods for the lifters correct?

Re: morel lifters

.030 preload = 2/3rds of a turn. That compared to a zero lash stocker I measured wanted a .100+ longer PR.
