I'm thinking about Porting and Polishing my heads and posibly match porting them, jsut wondering what kind of performance gains might i get out of that? And I'll will probably be getting the cc305 or cc306 cam, and i was wondering if this might make my computer start throwing codes, i wanted to put in some 1.6 rr, and i wanted to know if it was going to set off my knock module, and if it is worth it to get a set of hardened push rods, I was just wondering if anyone has this similar set up that can let me know what performance gains they saw and how the drivability changed in an M6, the shop that would be doing the P & P is jsut a local speed shop, should i trust them or go with a new set of heads, the car will be a daily driver till i find another for cheap, and after that a weekend driver and strip car, i need to get in the 11's on the motor alone! is it posible to do it on a reqular budget and stock heads? A good P&P with a CC306 should get you around 370-400 rwhp. That's with a good tune though. Having your car tuned well will assure it's running right and you shouldn't throw any codes or anything. After that you'll have plenty of power to get into the 11's, but your driving skills mixed with traction, track conditions, and suspension will tell if you'll get there. A lot of people on this board are in the mid to low 12's, I think a couple are even at 12.00 with just a cam. Adding heads to that equasion would easily net 11's.
