More knock probs Any help Like a demon is in there
Okay i tried all this ,ohm out the blue wire from the KS to the blue PCM connector, pin 22? Careful, there are 2 blue wires on that PCM connector.
While you're there, check the blue wire for 5 volts and measure the resistance of the KS to ground. 3300-4500 ohms. If all that checks out, use some resistors from the blue wire to ground with a total resistance in the same range 3300-4500. If it still shows knock then AND you know the blue wire connection is good at the PCM. Then the PCM input channel is defective. I am not getting 3300-4500 ohms though I got 5volts by the computer, i get like 1000 ohms? I have tried 2 new knock sensors same thing, Tried a new wire same thing I still get knock in gear at idle the goes to 8 when stalling up? What the hell is up with this I am done i think fooling with it unless i foind some info from you guys, Maybe the computer is bad hell I dont know. Thanks for any help Also this all started cause up top of the rpms it would fall on its face So we scanned it and we are getting 12degrees knock retard up top on a wot run

A bit hard to follow your post, since you appear to have copied the testing guidlelines you got in another post, then pasted it into the middle of your results, so its hard to follow. Is there any reason you didn't just continue the earlier thread, rather than starting a new one? It loses continuity and usually gets less results.
So lets try again.
Did you scan the PCM for codes? A faulty KS or harness wire will set DTC 43. You can scan your 93 by shorting the ALDL connector pins.
Did you pull the harness wire off the KS, measure the voltage with the key on, from the single harness wire to the block to verify 5V at the KS? If you get 5V on the computer pin, and don't get 5V on the end of the wire, the wire is defective.
Wire still off, you measured the resistance from the single pin on the KS to the engine block? Did you get a value in the range of 3,500-5,500 ohms? Or is that where you got 1,000 ohms?
Put the harness connector back on the KS. Measure the voltage between the wire and the engine block. Did you get a reading in the range of 1.5 - 3.5V? Anything outside those limits sets DTC 43.

No codes set it is a 96 z28, Ks to engine block I get 1000ohms, On the computer pin we got 5volts we went ahaead and put in a new wire from the computer to the ks same crap, Changed knock sensor again, Same thing, So I have a new wire, new knock sensor, Whatelse can cause false knock Except the computer being bad? I thought I did post in the same thread guess I didnt that would be why it didnt make sense sorry
Then why didn't you include that info in your post? How was anyone supposed to know you were talking about a 96?????
When the Slowpoke and I TRIED to help you, we were ASSuming from your signature that you had a 93. As a result, we both wasted our time telling you to look for 3,500-5,500 ohms on the knock sensor to the block. That's for the 93-95 cars. 96/97 should be 100K ohm. Is it possible you have your meter set to Kohms, and you are actually getting 100,000 ohms when you measure the KS resistance?
I give up...........

Sorry man, I thought in my other thread which I thought this was getting posted to i put it was a 96 z28, Yes I am getting 100k ohms. My 93 is a gen 1 sbc. Carburated, But yes that is all the info I have on it, I am now selling it, Tired of trying to figure out what the deal is with it, Not sure maybe my exhaust is picking up through it in gear. hell I dont know anymore either, Thanks for the help man
