Monoblade Throttle body

Ever since I have been on this board I had always heard that a bigger throttle body doesnt help unless you have heads/cam.... Well now that I have heads and cam I have been looking into it. I found a monoblade throttle body that AS&M makes for our cars that claims to outflow 58MM ones and was wondering if it is good or if anybody has used it. Open to any suggestions.

Chris

I found it at http://www.tbyrne.com/lt1catalog.html

If I remember correctly the 58mm is equivalent to 900 cfm. This is more than most will ever need.
Find out what you Need then get the corresponding throttle body. Don't just buy what looks or sounds good.

Re: Monoblade Throttle body

I'm running the monoblade on my 383 solid roller car and it has worked out very well. I believe they rate it to flow ~1,300cfm which is much more than the stock MAF can flow anyway without significant pressure drop. If you aren't running a very aggressive setup with large heads, big cam, and increased displacement at 6500-7000rpm, the 58mm will be MORE than enough for your needs. To be honest, I probably wouldn't of seen much if any of a loss going with the 58mm on my setup but I got a good deal on it so got it instead.

Re: Monoblade Throttle body

If your car is making over 350rwhp, a larger than stock TB would probably help.
