Monoblade

Im considering getting a Monoblade to upgrade from the stock throttlebody. Ive heard back in the day when they were new that they were having idle issues. Has that problem since then been fixed. has anybody had any trouble from there monoblade?.

What in the hell do you have done to your car that requires you to use a monoblade?!?!

EDIT: Just saw the blower in your sig I still want to know at what point one needs to switch from say the 58mm to a mono...

Well if you goto the advanced section, they had a pretty good thread that discussed this in fine deatil. One of the points that I grasped and remember is that its better to go too big than too small. Basically saying is that a stocker t/b will hinder a max effort application's hp but a simalar setup will not be hindered by a t/b that is bigger than needed. The motor will only engest what it can consume.

Max flow of the P600B is 1200cfm (http://www.procharger.com/models.shtml)...Maxflow of the 58mm is 1050 cfm, monblade is 1300cfm if I remember right. Yikes. Thats a lotta damn air LOL.

Have fun with it!

Yes, this is true, Im kind of getting ready for the next setup even though my current one isnt finishes, Im trying to buy things that leav room to grow. The huffer that I'll be purchasing will be an F1 which pushes 1,525cfm.

No problem with split blm's? I remember Brent doing a mod on a 58mm t.b. to isolate the IAC passage like the stocker. I still have the stocker and wonder how much the IAC passages in the intake may contribute to REVERSION and consequent "CAM SURGE" that refuses to completely go away. Maybe I should abandon the IAC passages in the intake the way that monoblade does. I do have the BLM locker now.

Going small can only hurt things on one of these engines. Even the posts I've seen showing swaps from stocker to 58mm on near stock engines have showed negligable gains. Which tells you right there that the power increases will be proportional to the engine output and going bigger isn't going to hurt.

quick,
Check those IAC passages the next time you pull the intake. A couple of the holes on my buddies intake were quite a bit smaller than the others. That can't be helping the situation.

Actually I did, and there was only one that was smaller so I opened it up to match the rest. I just wonder about the LACK of idle air moving in the MAIN intake runners.
