modifying the inlet elbow
or if you're on a tight budget (or just super cheap like me), it's a snap to remove the inlet elbow, remove the resonator & plug the opening. I used a clairol shampoo bottle bottom (oval cross section will match resonator almost perfectly) & a piece of 1/8" thick rubber (available at any home improve store in plumbing) to plug the aperture. The shampoo bottle is used to support the rubber & keep it from having to resist vacuum. the rubber is cut to match the aperture & is siliconed in place for a nice smooth fit. Total cost= something like a buck fifty, has worked great for 18 mos. Just be sure you get a nice tight fit & there's no air leaks.
