Mobil 1 at Walmart
Just giving everyone that uses it a heads up it is 18.00 for the 5 quart container...I believe blue and green tops. I think that is a pretty good price. Also...
With the new engine I'm going to use mobil one and I bought both kinds because I didn't know which one to use. I currently use 10w-30 regular oil, but is that okay in the mobil one for here in Houston or should I go 5w-30.
Thanks.
JOHN

Just so you know that is Mobil 1 Syn. blend. It's not a true fully synthetic oil. I think it's called drive clean. I was going to buy some because of the price, but I saw that it was a blend. So I just spent the extra $5-6 and got the fully synthetic.
Switching to mobile one in high milage cars can somtimes cause leaks in worn out gaskets. I wouldnt do it unless you have time to deal with leaks.
the problem with 5-w30 is that is only rated to 80 degrees If I remember right.mabye 90. I thought I remember reading
5-30 was -30 -80
and 10-30 was 0-100
And I never saw my manual but I read the manual in a friends camaro and it said 5 - 30 in the winter and 5-30 or 10-30 in the summer.

i switched to mobil 1 10w-30 at 72k miles, no major leaks. a small one has popped up near the opti/timing chain area. but thats an easy 1 to fix. But anyway, mobil 1 syn wont cause leaks, just make the ones you have more noticeable. So can deal with a small leak now or a bigger leak later. your choice really.

As said, you will only have leaks if you have existing leaks.
