mobil 1 syn. tranny fluid?

I was at autozone today and i saw some mobil one synthetic race tranny oil. It said on the back meets or exceeds requirments of dexron III. Would you recomend this for an m6 or just go with the straight dexron III. Or do you have any other suggestions for tranny fluids? Let me know your opinions guys. Thanks

I've been using it for 2 years now. From the feel, i'd say it may be a little thinner but it works just fine.

You do not want to use synthetic oil in your transmission. They need slight friction to work and function properly and synthetic oil is just to slick for it. I have never heard of any transmission shop that used or recommended synthetic oil. If fact when I asked they said "Oh no....no synthetics, use regular oil." They recommended Penzoil ATF Dextron III. Thats what I use now. There are a few transmission builders in here that will tell you the same.

He's talking about using it in his M6. I've used it in mine for several years too without a problem. I have heard you do not want to use synthetic in the 4l60E, but it works fine for the T56.
