Mobil 1 0-40W ??

I didn't even know they had it. What the story on it and will it be good for my stroker? I heard Patman praise the Castrol 0-30.

Patman told me that if i really wanted to stick with Mobil 1, 0w-40 would be my best choice - i switched to Castrol Syntec 0w-30.....

Yeah, just did some searching and found that in one of recent replies. Think I'm gonna try it.

As for the Castrol Syntec 10-30w, don't wanna bum you out but I had run that in my stock engine since break-in. Spun 3 of my rod bearings at 78k. I aint using Castrol any more...not saying its bad but I didn't have any good luck with it so why go back.

Do not confuse the Castrol 10W30 with the 0W30. Totally different formulations. 0W30 shows much better results in the analysis results I've seen reported on some of the oil testing boards. The Castrol 0W30 tests better than the Mobil 1 10W30. The Mobil 0W40 is also showing better numbers than the 10W30, from the few test results I've seen on other boards. Patman just might be right.
