Re: Missing alot of h.p. any ideas? Help!

Aftermarket speed density systems are tune on the fly which is much easier than the chip setup of a stock 93. Speed density can be good never said it couldn't, but for a street car MAF is far motre forgiving.

Far as the injectors, my experiance with them was bad as have been the majority of other I have spoken too on it but I am glad they worked for you.

On the tranny, I have not heard that much about your trannies far as reliability or what you put into them but I am aware of who you are. On the b-body side of things though ever shop I would consider reputable uses the Transgo, ProBuilt, Tripp, the other CPT(who claimsto do things similar to how you do), FLP just to name a few, they manage to make it work. I understand some like the vacuum modulator Transgo offers seperately some such as yourself and the other CPT don't. Comes down to more than one way to skin a cat, there are almost always multiple good ways to come up with the same end result.

Thanks Frank, Yeah I had the tranny kit put in 2 yrs. ago never had a problem. seems to shift firmly. I am going to get ahold of the governor spring/weight set. after I find out this problem. went over the motor plenty. No leaks/vacumn or fuel. great fuel press. cannot be the motor. this has to be a tuning prob. hopefully will get it straightened out. Will disconnecting my 02's and running to work and back about 100miles round trip hurt anything? I am getting new 02's in a couple of days. just trying to see if this is the problem.

Unhooking the O2's shouldn't be a problem. You're just going to run off of your open loop a/f vs rpm vs map table. That table should be setup fine and your car is probably still going to run rich, just not as bad. You should also pull the PCM fuse for about 30 seconds to reset the long term fuel trim. This might help with WOT, but I can't promise anything. At WOT, the PCM does not use the O2's, but it does use the last long term fuel trim that was set in the computer. I would say that unhooking the O2's is going to help driveability more than anything. The car shifting 800 rpm too soon isn't helping either. Make sure you get that fixxed before the tuner comes or you won't be able to get to the peak hp of you're combo.

Update, I unhooked the 02's . drove the 100mile roundtrip to work last night. car drove unbelievable. like a new car 90% of the surging gone. esp. in the upper rpm's. drove smoother. I did not go wot. I will try that tonight, I am happy with the way the car runs now...
so I narrowed it down to maybe the 02's. but definetly the tune. I am still going to get the new 02's. and I still have a dynotune coming in aug. question. if I put in the new 02's. and it still runs bad. when in closed loop, can I just unhook them and run in open loop. until my dynotune? and it also seems like my mpg's. went back up. do you think I gained some of my h.p. back from the h/c when I keep it in open loop? I never really noticed any h.p. increase sind the h/c because of the tune...

oh yeah the tps/map/iac are all new within the last month. so I think the tune and maybe 02's. the problem.

If it were me, I'd leave the O2's unhooked until you get it dynotuned. There may not be anything wrong with your O2's, it's just the car is having a problem keeping it at a a/f of 14.7. I would almost say that if you replace them, the car will still run like that. You will gain more power than you think getting the a/f the way it's supposed to be. I gained over 30 rwhp just getting my a/f right on the dyno. Like I said above, the WOT operation shouldn't be affected because it doesn't use the O2's, just the last BLM it had stored in the computer. I'd pull the PCM fuse for about 30 seconds to reset the BLM to 128. Then, the car may run better at WOT. I'm glad it helped.
