missing from 5000 to 5700 rpms

i have a 96 trans am with a 383 it runs strong up to 5000 rpms then misses thru roughly 5700 rpms then will pick back up to around 7 grand. the motor only has about 1400 miles on it since the build. all ignition is msd except for the coil. could this be the prob or could it be cause of the stock fuel pump? it seems to be worse at wot i dont seem to notice it as much if im just gradually coming into it.

need more specs than that

id say it COULD be your opti since its at higher RPMS
what injectors do u have? do u have a way of checking ur fuel pressure or scanning the car?

My Z had a noticeable miss at 5,200 rpm + for almost two months, then the optispark completely failed. I chased the miss for awhile, putting in new plugs, new wires and still couldn't locate it until it failed completely. Is your opti new with your rebuild or is it the original?

i repalced the opti with the msd dist. i have 50# high impedence delphi injectors. im running a granatelli maf lt4 intake and heads the heads and intake have been gasket matched ive got the msd 6al box only thing stock i have on it is the coil and fuel pump. the computer was tuned by pcm for less. didnt really notice the miss at first i left the 6000 chip in the 6al box till i got about 1100 miles on it then changed it to the 8000 chip thats when i noticed the miss. i took the chip out and put the 6000 chip back in but it still misses i think it may be the coil.maybe.
