missfire and a/c problems

I have my SES light on and so i got it checked at the dealership up the road. My camaro has been idling rough and sometimes stalls out, but once driving, it runs good, and even gets good gas mileage. The dealership told me the car is running some missfiring codes, most likely from the Mass Air Flow Sensor, since it tripped that code too. Hopefully that all that is, but i just read in another thread that this guys camaro's heat and a/c only blows through the defrost and floor, and its a vacuum line thats faulty, and that can cause missfiring too. Well, mine does that also. So is the vacuum line whats wrong with my a/c blowing through just defrost vents, i wasn't sure if all that was, and is that part of my missfire problem, as well as the MAF? Thanks, it sucks to get my car back on the road after two years of agonizing busted s10 driving, to still have mess to fix, after fixing other stuff to get it back on the road lol.

Your AC vent issue is a vacuum line or check valve issue, make sure the this connection is in place (photo thanks to Shoebox): http://shbox.com/1/vac_check_valve.jpg

Mostly likely your rough idle is due to something else as a small vacuum leak shouldn't throw a MAF code. You might try carefully cleaning your MAF first before replacing it. You can also swap MAFs if you have a friend with an LT1 to prove it's a MAF issue. Also check the wire harness to the MAF.

lol thanks! Just so happens the one sent to me was exactly the one my friend wanted for his 07 silverado classic 5.3, black with cold air tuning. Don't ask me why they sent that to me, being as mine is 97' Z28 Red w/ Cold Air tuning but oh well, I told my friend i'd let him have that one if he ordered me a new one, that way i wouldn't have to wait for the sent one to reach its point, then having a new maf sent back. Now i just got to wait what i waited before, which still is dumb. Anyway, it seemed like you could feel a difference in even that big of a truck, which is a four door full size, with a smaller engine than mine lol. Little less hp too
