Miss at idle (CONT'D) Burnt Wire?
Awhile back, I posted a thread about a miss at idle. I did a little more snooping, and noticed
1. It only does it when the car is at operating temperature, and at idle (600 RPM)
2. There is a noticable "click" or "snap" associated with the miss. It comes from the Right Rear side of the engine. It does not sound mechanical. I thought it actually sounded like an electrical discharge, so I looked at it at night, and sure enough, there was a little flash of light associated with it. I couln't actually see an arc itself, but the light came from about where I figured the sound was coming from. Someting is arcing, and I assume it is the plug or wire.
I didn't think to rev the engine to see if the RPM's affected it.
3. The misfire is fairly random, but happens once every two or three seconds.
I figure its a burnt wire (OEM originals with 99.9K on them), but I would really appreciate your input on what else I should look for. Thanks....

Re: Miss at idle (CONT'D) Burnt Wire?
if u see light there it is an arching wire.. sounds like a clicking/snapping... just turn off the lights/night time and watch the light show under the hood to help determine if its just on that side.. Most likely its plug number 6 which is 2nd from the past on the passenger side..

Nothing would make it more prone to problems its just the routing of the wires.
Invest in some new ones, make sure you route them away from the manifolds and you should have no problems.
