Is this a "miss"?
Is this a "miss"?
I just got my car back from a well-known shop that put on headers and did a basic tune. While they had it tore apart they threw in some TR6 plugs for me. They didnt do wires, I was going to when I got home. They dynod it for me and the car put down 282rwhp and 325rwt.
I thought that seemed kinda low. But they said my stock wires (70,000mi.
) were holding me back and I had a "little bit of a miss". So I drove it home and I noticed that at idle the rpms would bounce around sometimes. Is this what you call a miss? Or is it something different?
BTW I changed the wires this weekend and it ran fine for 20 miles and then my "miss" happened again.

I used to have an old 5.0 that did the same thing to me. It turned out just to be a vaccume tube. But, not long after I got my Z I had the little 'miss' problem and it turned out that my water pump had a leak in it and it was dripping into my opti. After I replaced the pump all my problems went away. Its kind of a long shot that its either of these but its always worth checking out.
Good luck,
Jason

I agree with the vacuum leak, also with the dripping water pump, check both things. Any rubber hose that has dryrot/cracks in it shold be replaced. Those hp numbers are kinda low...... no offense. It sounds like your car needs tuned, along with new wires, more than anything.
