Bret, wanna spare some details on your LS buildup? This motor gonna have some CFE heads on it?
I'm building it so I can test some heads out on it. Don't know what the top end will be but the bottom end will be lightweight and a 6.0L (LS2) setup. Hyd Roller and mainly used for street/road coarse use. I'd like a driveable 500rwhp.

I'm at 8.3 DCR. I tried to get 8.5 but my pistons had too much dish.

Well who knows, I do know that I'm going to try some cool stuff on this motor so lets see where that gets me. I don't drive it as much now due to a new dog and a new truck for the dog, but I still want to be able to get in it and drive down to see Lloyd in Dallas if I want to, and still try to make 500rwhp with only 366 cubes. I've done it with SBC's so this is just a new challenge.

My 383 specs on compression just as an fyi;
I've got a dcr of 9.58 and a scr of 11:86, and data master logs aren't showing any knock through out the rpm scale under load. Cruising down the road I'm getting 41 degree's of advance @ 2200 rpm and 24 mpg.

Ya might want to recheck your DCR figures. I know of one guy running 9.6 in Vegas, but he has done a ton of work to run it on the street,I mean a ton.

Is the IVC of 63* at .050 or advertised. If it is @50 the Real IVC is much later and would knock the DCR down a good bit.

Re: Minimum recommended DCR??

Even after changing the piston side wall clearance to .012 (wrong above) I got scr 11.8 and a dynamic of 9.53
I will go out to the garage and see if I can find the cam card real quick, and the pistons box to see if there is anything I'm missing therem but they are forged SRP's

Those little things don't change it much.
Is the 63* at 50?

Re: Minimum recommended DCR??

I have 12.1:1 compression, not sure what the DCR is but if someone could let me know then that would be great. Thank you.

Racerdude,
R u saying to calc the dcr u use the advertised number instead of the @.050?

If so, I have some more investigative work to perform....

P.S. I have been in touch with 4 engine builders recently who all say dcr is a myth, static is all that matters....strange huh?....

Re: Minimum recommended DCR??

Mike you need all the spec to plug into the link I provided to fill it out, ie, bore size gasket thickness. Look at my post # 25 to see the link and what you need to figure it.
