Mini starter too close to Y-Pipe?

I recently installed a new summit mini starter. To make a long story short, it barely fit with my AS&M headers, Now that it is installed, it is only about 1/3 of an inch away from my Y-Pipe. Is that too close and will just cause it to go bad or will it be OK? I checked into that header wrap but it will just touch the headers and burn through and probably cause more heat transfer. The directions on it said not to place it within 2 in. of exhaust or it would be damaged. Any suggestions? Maybe wrap the y-pipe where it is near the starter? I didn't think that was good for the exhaust coating though? Thanks!

What choice do you have? do you think that's what killed your other starter?

Wrap both the headers and the starter or replace the headers. But only wrap the header in the area of the starter.
