Mini Starter

I have a Summit Racing mini starter sitting on a shelf. Does anyone know if it would work on an LT1?

Here is the link to the starter:

Re: Mini Starter

depends on if the teeth on the starter match up with whatever flywheel you have. i diddnt see it on the summit page, but id say thats the only drawback.

Re: Mini Starter

According to Summit, it will fit all SBC and BBC with an inline bolt patern and with 153/168-tooth flywheel.

What about the electrical connections? Do they match up? Or do we have something unique?

Re: Mini Starter

Do LT1's utilize an inline bolt pattern or do they use and offset pattern? Or, are they drilled for both?

Re: Mini Starter

It should work okay, can it be adjusted to clear the block or exhaust if they are in the way? The bolt pattern will be fine, and it should just be a matter of taking the old one off and putting the new one in. Don't forget to unhook the battery!
