Milling heads and compression
Milling heads and compression
I will be plulling my heads shortly to fix the thread in a header bolt hole shortly. Also doing the rear intake leak fix. I am considering getting the head milled and using an Impalla SS gasket. What will this do to my compression and what type of problem should I look out for. Will this create any type of valve clearance issues?
Shouldnt be a problem....you want even lose a whole cc per chamber so compression gain will be about .25-.5 depending on the gasket you were using before.
Im going to be running the .029 gasket as well....just looking at it make me a bit nerves about using it compared to the felpro .039 that I was using. Im breaking one of my rules here by not sticking with what I know works for the sake of .25 gain in compression
Sorry ...just felt the need to add that.

the main reason people increase compression here is due to a bigger cam that bleeds off more compression. going from 10.5 to 10.8 isn't going to yeild a whole lot.
