Angry Milk Shake Antifrezze!! Cracked Head Or Gaskets?

A FEW DAYS AGO I WROTE A POST WONDERING WHERE MY COLLANT WAS GOING.

so today i drove the car around and it started making the coolant a milkshake brown color.. my buddy told me the cooling system needs to be flused. and he knows the guy i bought it from used block seal.. i think its oil in my coolant!

idk if its a cracked head or head gasket cus. the thing eats up the water.. kinda weird i thought i had the system bleed and radiator toped off and it started shooting water out the overflow tank at 180 the car drank omost a gallon of water on a 5min drive.. i think i see white smoke from the exuast allso.. but onLY after i rev it to 4000 I SEE WHITE SMOKE ....... BUT THERES NO WATER IN MY OIL

allso the damn car runs at 180 one sec then jumps up to the red zone,

sometimes when i get done driving it the car will be at 180 and ill turn the motor off,, then start the car up 5mins later and it will be at the red mark on the temp guage

the cars add water sensor stays on, and when i go to add more water to the radiator.. it makes a gurgling sound like theres tons of air pockets... but then again this could be normal when u take a hot radiator cap off..

what do u guys think it is?

I put $50 on head gasket leak at the very back or very front cylinders, that is where they always go. I actually have not seen an LT1 head crack, have seen them with .030" warp(which is huge for a warped head) but still not cracked. You have a '97 - TTY head bolts, which are the common culprit.

Stop driving immediately.

Blown head gasket. If you've been driving it long like that, maybe short block too. Coolant isn't good for bearings!

Replace the TTY head bolts with ARP head studs.
Use a good quality gasket.

make sure to check the flatness on the heads while they are off. They may have gotten warped and need to be decked.

I vacuum test will tell if you have mechanical problems. If the needle moves around there is something wrong. It will also be good to find low vacuum that can be a sign of engine wear or a leak.

Ben,
If you're seeing white smoke then more than likely it is a blown head gasket. It is just VERY strange how oil is getting into your coolant. A picture of this would greatly help. Even with a blown head gasket it doesn't mean coolant would automatically go to your oil. There could be a coolant passage way on the gasket that gave up and is now a direct channel to a cylinder.
My adivce is to pull your plugs and see if you have any plug that is "cleaner" than the others as well as being discolored.
The "oil" in your coolant could very well be sludge from some sort of coolant stop leak crap that you've mentioned.

Missed the second part....but then why did he first say he is loosing coolant - you can't have it both ways.

I edited my post just so I didn't confuse anyone. Read my revised version.

I stand by my first post - typical LT1 blown head gasket.

Ben,

You may bery well have oil in your coolant, it just isn't showing up the way you expect it to. I'm willing to bet that that milkshake like substace saw in your valve covers is also in your oil pan as well. Not everybody ends up with the hot chocolate colored oil. When my gasket blew, even after aI drained the oil I didn't notice a thing different... untill I dropped the pan... that's when I saw the massacre.

I revert back to my original question and ask... How can you get oil in your coolant system via blown head gasket?
