Might this be a serious issue?
Might this be a serious issue?
Whenever I accelerate or rev my engine, I hear a loud wooshing noise sort of similar to an air hose at a gas station. I'm assuming it might be some kind of exhaust leak, because it just sounds like air coming out at a very high pressure. Could it possibly be a clogged catalytic converter? I have no engine mods, just headers, intake, and a hooker catback...Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Might this be a serious issue?
I figured out what it was....The catalyst in my catalytic converter is broken. I disconnected the catback from the catalytic converter, and pieces of the catalyst were sticking out of the outlet on the cat, so I started breaking them apart and pulling them out, and it freed up the exhaust and it stopped making the whooshing noise. I'm going in tomorrow to get a new cat installed.. I did check the CAI just in case and made sure it was connected properly, but the noise still persisted (the noise was way louder than the CAI, and was coming from around the cat in the first place). Thanks for your help!
