Melling M55A - M155 oil pump difference?
Hi guys,
I'm in the middle of buying a Canton Road Race oil pan.
They list the correct length pickup for the Melling M155 oil pump, but I have a brand new M55A unit. They do not list the pickup for this pump.
What are the differences between these two pumps? Can I use this pickup for my M55A?

Re: Melling M55A - M155 oil pump difference?
The inlet diameter for the M155 is 3/4", if the M55A is the same diameter then it should work. It's not a bad idea to check the clearance between pan and screen nontheless.

The M55 is a 5/8" pickup tube diameter. The M155 is a 3/4".
Around 94/95 they switched to the 3/4" pickup. I haven't got a definite changeover date & reports vary. All 95's I have built are 3/4".
Hope this helps.
