measuring for pushrod length

this is probably a worthless question since i think its a no but..

can i pull apart an lt1 lifter and make it solid to measure? im replacing the lt1's with the ls7's but i think the plunger may be different? is it different enough to throw off my pushrod length? didnt want to take apart my new lifter as ive never disassembled one

thanks

PM sent. I don't have access to post attachments but if you PM me your e-mail, I'll send you pictures of a disassembled hydraulic lifter and the changes I make to the inside of stock lifters for racing.
