measureing deck height?

well... my current measurements are not exact... but will be close to what i settle on:

#1 .0360
#2 .0380
#7 .0365
#8 .0350


Dont know how exact they can deck but i will get it taken down to about ~.010" so I hope the machinist can dec 28 down to 25 for the #2/#8 side... but I still have to make sure those are the best measurements i can get

That's about normal.... You can deck these things down to zero without a issue. Most times you will see that kind of variance on a block.

Good, I was hoping so.. should I bother with squeezing the extra .002-3" out of the decking process to get my quench exact? or just get it zero decked and run like an .026 gasket... which would leave me under .040" quench... kinda tight for my likings
