Arrow Maybe asking the obvious, but still...

When my car is running low on fuel (around 1/4 tank or lower) it starts to run like crap, it misses stumbles etc.
I am guessing fuel pump, but has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to replace the pump and then have it be the injectors or regulator. Any input is appreciated.

fuel pump! You can change it yourself, find a right up on it and go from there. Change your fuel filter while your at it.

You should be aware that the fuel in your tank is meant to cool the pump. I t sounds like you have other issues beyond this, but just keep in mind that it is wise to keep more than 1/4 tank of fuel at all times.

Generally in these cars 1/4 tank is more like 1/4 gallon. By that point your fuel pump may be getting starved and not getting the cooling it needs from the fuel which could cause failure. Just keep it above that level and you should be ok.

I've never had a problem running low and I've ran my cars slap out before. You may have some gunk in the bottom that's clogging things up.

True on the 1/4 tank = 1/4 gallon thing!

I would change your fuel filter. The fuel on the botttom of the tank is not verry clean. Peoples gas guages read diferent, The shap of the tank makes giving acuarate readings dificult too. Your guage might be reading incorrectly.
