A poor lady called a Consumer show on west coast here about a stealership that told her she would have to pay a $748 "core" charge for an "Electronic Brake Control module" if she wanted to retain her defective part. Thumbs up to her for even requesting it. The core is = to the price of the part. So the host makes a call out to mechanics if this part has a core or not.

I did the lookup at gmpartsdirect.com and called and I said that she paid full retail for the part plus labor. And that the dealer cost was around $390 and stated "NO" core.

The host got seriously excited and and was pretty convinced the stealership was in for some fun now.

Score one for little guy/gal!
